Built-In Fingerings:

The easiest way to see the keys for the built-in fingerings is to open the document  Built-In.gif or RecorderBuiltIn.PICT with your web browser or some other graphics programme.  This contains all a picture of the appropriate keys which you can then print out or refer to.

For alto or bass recorders, obviously the fingerings need to be transposed up a perfect 4th to be read correctly.

Making Your Own Fingerings

Press ` to get the blank tablature, then press the numbers to 'fill in' the holes.


  0 ->   o o   <- 1
           o   <- 2
           o   <- 3
          ---
           o   <- 4
           o   <- 5
   7 ->  o o   <- 6
   9 ->  o o   <- 8

Press shift+number to get 1/2 holes.

Press option+number (Macintosh only) to get shaded holes (/).

Press ~ (tilde) to get a W (window-shade symbol).

- = end hole of recorder covered

_ = end hole of recorder 1/2 covered.
